Hi Fred,
I just had to write and tell you about the Prince Hybrid Chipper you and Kenny reviewed last week.
I was just wow’d by Kenny’s review, and immediately ordered one from Edwin Watts (taking advantage of the GolfSmarter discount, of course). Surprisingly, Edwin Watts is the only retailer I’ve found that carries it (so far). And I must admit, I was very impressed with Edwin Watts service - They called me by phone and explained that (due to demand) it was backordered, but assured me I would receive one as soon as the next shipment came in. In fact, in was only a couple of days, and I had the new club in my bag.
And what a club... It’s one of the most versatile clubs I’ve ever seen. In my first round with it last Saturday, I was able to 1) use it out of two bunkers (where, because I was near a lip it would have been difficult to use a sand wedge), 2) off hardpan (where inevitably I would have bounced a sand or lob wedge into the ball), and 3) I even hit a full-swing from 125 yards (where I had a restricted swing under a tree and the shorter shaft allowed me to hit a near full swing) and put the ball on the green. I doubt I would have been successful with any of these shots with a traditional wedge. Lastly, I chipped one in for birdie with it on #13 and was sold saying “I think I’ll keep it”. It is not a game-improvement club - it is a SCORE-imporvement club. Incredible product.
Between this and my Sky Caddie (which I purchased during the off-season as a direct result of your Golf Smarter review), these are the two best buys for my game in years. I now have the rest of my foursome asking me for yardage; and after playing with me and my Sky Caddie, a couple of others in my league have since bought a Sky Caddie for themselves.
I just wanted to share this story with you to illustrate the value of your podcasts (and Kenny’s product reviews). Keep up the good work.
