This doesn't just have a new look.  The technology has advanced the performance of this club once again.  Eight grams of weight was moved from the crown and face to the sole to achieve the lower CG location.  New face geometry ensures high ball speed for maximum distance. Similar in shape to the popular G2 driver, the confidence-inspiring head provides forgiveness and includes a thinner moon-graphic alignment aid.

The lower spin rates allowed the engineers to increase the available lofts (7.5 degrees, 9 degrees, 10.5 degrees, 12 degrees and 13.5 degrees) by 1/2 degrees to ensure golfers are fit to the proper launch angle. Three graphite shaft options are offered to further custom fit the driver. The PING TFC100D is the standard shaft and is available in four flexes (Soft R, Regular, Stiff and X-Stiff). The Aldila NV 65 and the Grafalloy ProLaunch 65 also are offered as stock shaft choices in three flexes (Regular, Stiff and X-Stiff).

460cc Head for Maximized Inertia
A large head size and improved weight placement give the G5 driver a great moment of inertia for more stability, forgiveness and control.

Web Crown Design
Material removed from low stress areas in the crown is repositioned in the sole to lower the CG for reduced ball spin and increased distance.

Improved Variable Face Geometry
Improved precision-machined variable thickness face yields increased performance and durability. Variable face geometry helps optimize the CG location by redistributing material from low stress areas of the face.

New Thinner Crescent Moon Graphic Alignment Aid
Positioned on the crown of the club to aid in alignment for more accurate drives.

Robotic Plasma Welds
Very accurate and consistent welds improve the consistency and durability of the face while saving weight, which can be redistributed throughout the clubhead.

Enhanced Aesthetics
New sole plate graphics give the G5 driver a more appealing look.

New "703" Rubber Grip
The new rubber grip has 703 flame-shaped patterns, giving the grip a soft, textured feel.
