MacGregor Golf > MacGregor Hybrid Clubs Introducing the all-new MACTEC NVG2 Hybrid utility woods with a host of advanced new technologies including MacGregor?s exclusive Cup Face 360° Technology that eliminates face welds and turns the entire face into one big sweet spot, making every shot feel like it was hit dead-center. The new hybrids also use an exclusive Fujikura Triple Action Shaft for added clubhead speed and increased distance, along with Quadra Tungsten precision sole weighting to minimize unwanted club head twisting at impact for more accurate shots.
All NVG2 Hybrid utility woods benefit from MacGregor?s exclusive new Cup Face 360° technology with no welds on the face of the club. This is especially important because hybrids have smaller club heads to begin with and face welds only make the sweet spot smaller. As a result, Cup Face 360° provides a huge sweet spot advantage ? as much as 30 percent bigger when compared to clubs with standard face insert technology. And a high rebound effect across the entire club face, making every shot feel like you hit it dead center.
For high-rebound performance, 450 Maraging Steel is used for the Cup Face, providing the ideal combination of strength and elasticity. The 450 Maraging also features low carbon content for improved feel and shot control. Helping to minimize unwanted rotation of the club face at impact is high density Quadra Tungsten weighting. With two 10-gram precision Tungsten weights in the sole of the club (one near the heel and one near the toe) and two 1.5 gram weights in the extreme heel and toe, the NVG2 Hybrid Utility Woods boast an exceptionally high Moment of Inertia (MOI), or resistance to twisting, for a stable clubface that produces an easy high launch, accurate shots and enviable distance.
MACTEC NVG2 Hybrid Utility Woods are available in four lofts with graphite or steel shafts. Models with graphite shafts feature Fujikura? Triple Action Shaft technology with two bend points and three stiffness zones that work to maximize club head speed and energy release at impact for maximum distance. Graphite versions are available in four shaft weight/torque settings and carry a street price of $179.99. Steel shafted models use a Rifle Hybrid Utility shaft in three torque settings and carry a retail price of $159.99. Women?s models will be available in March 2006.
