I was intrigued when these clubs first started being advertised and I was looking forward to hitting them when they arrived at my favorite local Edwin Watts. I am a 53 year old 6 handicap that has played Titleist blades the last seven years. I loved my Titleists, but any slight mis-hit meant considerable distance loss. I came in and hit a 6 iron with an S-300 shaft and they felt really good. Definitely a forges feel. After showing interest in the clubs my Watts guy used the Mizuno fit system and I tried the three different shafts they recommended. I ended up liking the height the Nippon NS Pro 950 regular shaft gave me. After a few days contemplation I bought the set and they arrived two days later. I took them out to the course and it was love at first green hit. Even though the Mizunos are one degree stronger than my Titleists, I didn't gain any distance and I attribute that to the Nippon shaft, but I wasn't looking for distance anyway. The Nippon shafts has made my ball flight MUCH higher than it used to be and I'm excited by sticking 6 irons and having them hold. I'm not sure if I've mis-hit any clubs or not, because they feel great and I keep on hitting greens with them. I THOUGHT my old clubs felt buttery, but they feel like cast clubs compared to these beauties. These are definitely player's clubs and I would recommend these clubs to any player that is tired of unforgiving blades or are a little older (like me) and don't mind a little help from 21st century technology. The topline is a hair beefy, but I've come to like the look. It's...comforting. I assure you, if you go hit these, you'll agree that they feel even better than they look.
