Ping Karsten Mens Iron Sets

Golfers of any ability level will achieve significantly more distance with this versatile 17-4 stainless steel blended set. The high-launching Ping Karsten Irons are longer heel to toe with a CG that's extremely low and back to launch the ball high with increased MOI for more forgiveness and consistency. The custom tuning port connects to the sole, reinforcing the thinner face to increase ball speed and consistency across the face while promoting a solid feel. Custom-engineered length and loft progressions ensure high launch and greater ball speed for generating distance with control.

Easy-to-hit hybrids replace long irons to provide proper distance gaps. Progressive CG locations generate the ideal trajectory: high launch with appropriate spin. The higher-lofted hybrids have a CG that's lower and more forward to reduce spin. The CG in the lower lofts is back to launch the ball high. Extreme heel-and-toe weighting yields high inertia for greater forgiveness and consistent impact. A deeper head profile also increases MOI and provides maximum height on approach shots.

  • Heel-Toe Weighting: Optimized internal weight distribution yields high MOI by minimizing twisting of the face for greater forgiveness and consistency at impact.
  • Integrated CTP Design: This high-density weight stabilizes the head on mis-hits so there's less twisting of the club head, allowing a greater energy transfer at impact. Translation: More greens in regulation.
  • Forgiving Soles: The sole in the irons positions the CG low and back for high, easy launch with increased MOI for ensuring consistency and forgiveness.

  • SHAFT: KS 401 - high launching and lightweight to generate faster club head speed and optimal launch conditions

Chris - Great, but get fitted   April 26, 2015

Really like the Karsten irons, but remember Ping irons are semi custom clubs. You need to get fitted for them. There is a color code for the different lie angles and the standard "black dot" may not be the best for you. I was all set to order these but found out that the white dot was better suited for me based on height and swing.

Bottom line, the Karsten irons that they recommended are fantastic, and I love the 4's ridiculously easy to hit if you struggle with the longer irons.

Randy - Be sure to play with a demo set before buying   March 9, 2014

I was all excited about the possibilities of new this product and help that I could get from a super game improvement product from PING. I have now played 45 holes with irons and I am sorely disappointed. These irons do not live up there claim; easily to get shots airborne, more forgiving on off-center hits, etc. I have found the irons extremely difficult to hit off the deck as most shots are very thin or if you take a divot, they dig in like a dull plow blade. All shots are right with many being weak, leaking right ball flight. (Yes, the swing has some impact, but this more so than my old set.) Also, I was fitted by the PING rep during a demo day. I was fitted with the regular CFS shaft, midsize grip (to keep the ball from going left), and 1/2 extension. I really suspect the fitting missed on the shaft (should be stiff which what other fitters told me), grip size (should be standard), product (Karsten head) and possibly the lie and length. The only good news is the 100% guarantee, as I will be returning these clubs tomorrow.

I really suggest hitting these clubs on turf before buying, as they hit fine on the mats (at least for me).
