The PING G20 Yellow Dot Irons

Ping is one of the famous golf brand in the world. Recently Ping has launched the new series--Ping G20 Irons. Ping G20 Irons features a new Custom Tuning Port which expands perimeter weighting and increases MOI. The thinner face of the G20 Iron helps position weight to the toe for added forgiveness. The wider sole provides a higher launch angle. Strong lofts and a low center of gravity produce long shots with a high trajectory and maximum forgiveness. The PING G20 Iron Set features a new Custom Tuning Port which expands perimeter weighting and increases MOI. The thinner face of the G20 Iron helps position weight to the toe  for added forgiveness. The G20 iron set is very similar to the G15's, with a slightly wider sole. The cavity of these irons features a very similar look to the G15's but with a new soft layer on the back to help with sound, feel and vibrations. The steel shafts also look new, with more evenly spaced steps than the traditional AWT shafts, with a unique and interesting feel.

A great set of irons from Ping once again. I had the itch to upgrade from my G15 irons, which were great but you know how you get that itch for a few more yards. I hit just about every iron out there before deciding on these and the main reason was consistent distance on miss hits. it seems the trend this year with new game improvement irons was a thinner sole to give it more of a players look but I think that takes away from some of the forgiveness and I don't care about looks, I care about results. While I was impressed with the distance I gained hitting the x2 hot irons, sppedbladez and mizuno jpx ez irons I was disappointed with the distance on miss hits. granted that callaway and Taylormade just took a 6 iron and wrote 7 on the bottom of the club that really doesn't represent a true improvement in distance. With all those irons I found that if I hit it in the sweet spot I was 10-15 yards longer than my current set even while adjusting for jacked up lofts and lengths however on miss hits, while still fairly straight, I was 10-15 yards short of my target. While I'm a decent golfer I can't hope for a perfect swing each time to take advantage of that distance gain. I also hit the g25 irons and was sure I would love them but I did not see a discernable performance difference between them and the g20 irons. Note that I hit all of these irons on a launch monitor as well as on the range and course. The g20's were about 6 yards longer than my G15 irons which was a nice benefit plus the distance control here was much better on miss hits losing only about 6 yards which is much better than what I was getting with the other sets. I was sure this year I'd be playing a different brand but after a lot of testing I just keep coming back to Ping. While each review must be taken with a grain of salt my advice to you is to go out there and hit each club, we all have different swings and the club must feel right in your hands and it must suit your eye. This was just my experience. Hope this helps!
