Cleveland 588 Altitude Mens Driver

Advanced technology in the Cleveland 588 Altitude Driver makes hitting longer, higher and straighter drives easier than ever before. Ultralite performance gives more distance to game-improvement players and those with moderate swing speeds.

Features:

  • Precision Weighting: High-strength, lightweight wall construction allowed us to redistribute more weight lower and deeper in the club head. The result is Precision Weighting, which promotes the highest, straightest launch with higher MOI for more head stability through impact.
  • Ultralite Technology: Achieve more club head speed and distance with the same swing effort. A lightweight head, shaft and grip combine to weigh 270 grams, and traditional swingweight is maintained for more control throughout the swing.
  • Largest Sweet Spot: Our latest enhanced variable face thickness technology creates the hottest flight on center strikes and even faster ball speed on off-center hits for maximum forgiveness.
  • SHAFT: Matrix Radix Shaft - This premium lightweight shaft is designed for a mid-high launch with smooth feel and explosive speed. Made by Matrix, one of the fastest growing shaft brands on tour

A real sleeper in this year's lineup of new drivers. Finding the right driver is like finding the right car. not everyone likes the same vehicle and some features may not be as important than others to others. that being said I was shocked at how this driver performed for me. I know for the price it may be high for a non adjustable club but research also shows that once a driver is adjusted many players never change those settings so it basically becomes a fixed driver at that point. I hit this driver indoors on a launch monitor as warm up because I was there to get fitted for something else. I kept hitting high draw after high draw and was a little shocked. I was using a 12 degree R flex club. I started the fitting process and hit the sldr, bertha, bio cell, etc and the results weren't as good as what I was getting with the Cleveland even after multiple adjusting. I decided to put my ego aside, bite the bullet and buy the Cleveland 588 r flex 12 degree regular flex. my driver swing speed tops out at 95mph and I lofted all those adjustable drivers to 12 degrees anyway so I went with it. From the very first time I hit this club I got that same long high soft draw. I can't explain it nor do I care to. I'm just happy that club was lying around in the warm up area because it wasn't even on my list. I can't guarantee you'll get the same results I did but in my opinion this club is definitely worth a try. If you must have an adjustable driver for $50 more you can buy the 588 custom. I hit that after the fact as well and still got better results with the standard 588. This makes me think that I've finally found a shaft that is perfect for me. Either way, Cleveland is definitely worth at least a try in my opinion. hopefully you'll have similar success. hope this helps.
